You may need a dictionary.
Remember if you have a good grasp of how to form the imperfect tense, why not now have a go at trying to adapt other verbs e.g. surfer(to surf) - je surfAIS
View the Presentation below and write the answers ie the name of the country in your books giving a reason (in French where possible) for your choice. If you have time, you could also try and list all the food and drink items that appear in one slide of your choice.

with the most important at the top and least at the very bottom.

I read about this a while ago and am going to have a go because I am fed up of spoon feeding....especially at KS4.
"Give the kid a spoon and it only learns the shape of the spoon!"

Jeu logique : les chemises de Pierrot
Pierrot prépare ses chemises pour lundi, mardi et mercredi.
Il a une chemise en laine, une chemise en coton et une chemise en soie.
Sa chemise en coton est noire.
Lundi, il mettra une chemise en laine.
Mardi, sa chemise sera verte.
Pierrot ne s´habille jamais en jaune le mercredi
1 De quelle matière sera sa chemise mardi?
2 De quelle couleur sera sa chemise lundi?

Here is just one example from a recent Y9 lesson on school. This really challenged them and was a great starter whilst I set up the IWB. have a go - it's not as easy as it looks - even I took about 5 minutes and I class myself as relatively clever!!! A head-breaker indeed...
I have loads of back copies so I know how i'll be spending my evenings over the next few weeks!

These magic verb cards (available in German Spanish and French to my knowledge) are available from www.advancematerials.co.uk and cost less than £7 including VAT for a full set and a couple of "magic" cards. As you can see from the photo, pupils get the card and can see the whole phrase including the correct part of the verb. When they have had some time to study the card, they are asked to cover it with the "magic" red card which hides the orange text ie. the verb. Awesome! We had great fun and the pupils are all much better with verbs - result!
Year 10 have been studying modal verbs alongside the past tense in FRENCH. Some of them have struggled!
We have been using these odd one out exs in class to try and get pupils to justify thier answers in groups and to peer support eachother - afterall they get fed up of hearing me going on all the time!
They were all 100% accurate with their reasons and sometimes these sorts of activities lend themselves to surprising and unpredicted answers which can be equally right bit maybe nor quite the answer the teacher was looking for.
Let me know what you think :)
We have been using the map above to talk about the weather today. Here is a model weather forecast from Mrs Bewell and a brilliant effort from 2 of my hard working Year 9 girls.

Bravo les gars! This is excellent work. Just be careful of your pronunciation of vendredi - it's one of those tricky nasal sounds we have talked about.
Year 9 are working on the IMPERFECT at the moment in the context of what school used to be like. We will be using this song and lyrics to see how many IMPERFECT tenses we can spot as we watch the video and hear the song. The document contains : pages 1&2 - the lyrics with the IMPERFECT tenses hilighted and page 3 - this page has been cut up and the 11 phrases placed in emvelopes so pupils can reorder them according to the correct order in which they hear them.
