GERMAN VITAL VERBS - speaking loop dominoes & pupil handout

 

 

This document contains what I deem to be the 25 most vital verbs that will see you through most topics in German, even at GCSE. 

Page 1 is a handout and we will fill in the ENGLISH.

Page 2 onwards is meant to be printed out as a loop activity where cards are cut up into dominoes and starting with the card marked with *, pupils in turn read out the English and then their German partner continues until the whole class have had a turn.  If they have completed the exercise successfully, the last person and first person's cards should match up to form the loop. I tend to do this activity a few times and use a timer to see if we can beat our previous time which is great for repetition and adds a competitive element.

Team Points UPDATE - Taschengeld und Einkaufen

I have had a listen to your remarkable recordings from last lesson and team points stand as follows:

Team A - 38 + 39 = 77

Plus extra points awarded for voice recordings (accuracy and content) + 1 = 78

Team B - 44 + 83 = 127!!!

Plus extra points awarded for voice recordings (accuracy and content) + 14 + 10 bonus points = 151!!!

Particular praise goes to Jackson (PUPIL OF THE WEEK )and Helena - your recordings were quite simply amazing.  Fantastisch guys!  Team A, you need a team game plan - come on, rise to the challenge!

PLTS - Comparison alley - Leah und Amelie

You will read 2 descriptions and your task is to complete a comparison alley.  This involves you picking out any similarities and differences between the 2 descriptions.  Points will be awarded to the teams with the most correct answers.  Go on Year 9, give it your best shot!

Leah ist sieben Jahre alt und wohnt in York.

Sie kommt aus Deutschland.  Sie ist Einzelkind.

Leahs Lieblingsessen ist Hühnchenkorma und sie trinkt gerne heiße Schokolade mit Sahne.

Leah bekommt einen Pfund Taschengeld pro Woche.

Sie spart ihr Taschengeld, denn sie möchte gern das Spiel Nitendogs für ihren Nintendo DS kaufen.

Leah hat schon 7 Pfund gespart. Nintendogs kostet 20 Pfund.

Amelie ist vier Jahre alt und wohnt in York.

Sie kommt aus England.   Sie hat einen kleinen Bruder, Gabriel. 

Amelies Lieblingsessen ist Fisch und sie trinkt gerne auch heiße Schokolade mit Sahne.
