GERMAN VITAL VERBS - speaking loop dominoes & pupil handout

 

 

This document contains what I deem to be the 25 most vital verbs that will see you through most topics in German, even at GCSE. 

Page 1 is a handout and we will fill in the ENGLISH.

Page 2 onwards is meant to be printed out as a loop activity where cards are cut up into dominoes and starting with the card marked with *, pupils in turn read out the English and then their German partner continues until the whole class have had a turn.  If they have completed the exercise successfully, the last person and first person's cards should match up to form the loop. I tend to do this activity a few times and use a timer to see if we can beat our previous time which is great for repetition and adds a competitive element.

Your homework this week is to use your dictionary skills to work out the German for each of the letters / sounds.  We will then be using this in class on Friday to work on our German pronunciation.
